Discover art in nature around Tranekær Castle

Join us for a special guided tour through TICKON — Tranekær International Center for Art and Nature. The route takes you through the castle park and forest, where large contemporary works of art are located directly in the landscape. Art, nature and cultural heritage come into a higher unity when the guide tells about the works and their location in the surroundings.

An open art museum under the open sky

The artists behind the works work in natural materials and create works that will eventually fade and disappear. The tour provides insight into sustainability, changeability and the artistic thoughts behind the individual installations. It is all experienced in the special Tranekær environment with castle, forest and historical traces from the Ice Age.

Coffee and cake in the barn of Medicinhavernes

After the walk, a hot cup of coffee and cake awaits you in Medicinhavernes barn — right next to the castle garden. Here you can relax and digest the impressions. Terrace heaters are set up in the barn, so you can keep warm with your outerwear on, but remember to dress according to the weather.

Cranberry is more than art. You can visit Medicinhaverne, experience Tranekær Slotmølle or take a walk in the surrounding hat hills, which are part of the UNESCO Global Geopark The South Funen Archipelago. Tranekær also offers galleries and small specialty shops that are worth exploring.
