Piet Draiby from Dark Sky Langeland talks about the impact of light pollution on animals and humans, and what we can do about it.
The association Dark Sky Langeland aims to ensure the dark night at Langeland by detecting and alleviating light pollution - for the benefit of the environment and the undisturbed nocturnal nature.
- Nature, all ecosystems and we humans need darkness to thrive.
- A lot of light and Light pollution threatens darkness and threatens all living things!
- Measurements show that over 60% of us Europeans now cannot see the night sky clearly!
- Measurements also show that light pollution increases by about 10% per year here in Denmark.
